School PM — getting started

A planner for a semester: every assignment, when it is due, when you will actually sit down and do it, and how it all connects. What you schedule appears in your own Google Calendar, on your phone, automatically.

  3. Google
  4. Ready

Setting up

  1. 1Ask for an account. Open the site, choose Request one, and fill in a username, your email and a password. Nothing exists yet — the request goes to whoever runs the site.
  2. 2Wait to be let in. You will see a Waiting to be approved screen. Once approved, your own private database is created — nobody else, including the administrator, can see what is in it.
  3. 3Connect Google Calendar. Settings → Connect Google Calendar, then approve. Leave the Calendar tick box on, or nothing can sync. A calendar called School PM appears in your Google account.
  4. 4Turn on the assistant (optional). The assistant runs on your own Anthropic key. Create one at console.anthropic.com and paste it into Settings → Assistant API key. Anthropic bills you directly for what you use.

Courses

  1. 1List. Every task, with its course, status, due date and estimate. Click a row to open it. This is where most editing happens.
  2. 2Timeline. The same tasks as bars across the calendar. Drag to move, drag an edge to resize, and link tasks so that moving one pushes what depends on it. On a phone the dates are locked until you press Edit dates, so scrolling never moves your work by accident.
  3. 3Calendar. Your execution slots — the time you have actually set aside to work — alongside your real Google events, so you can see what is already in the way.
  4. 4Courses. Credits, grades, difficulty and prerequisites. The Course Map draws which course unlocks which, and marks the ones you are ready to take.

Worth knowing

  • Dates are dd/mm/yyyy and times are 24-hour. The week starts on Sunday.
  • Ctrl+Z undoes the last change.
  • A due date can be locked, so dragging in the timeline moves only the start.
  • Settings → Data → Export downloads everything as a file. It always works, even if your access has ended.
  • Forgot your password? Use Forgot password on the sign-in page — the link arrives by email.

Access

Access runs for a set period. When it ends you will see a notice, and a week later the app becomes read-only: you can still see everything and export it, you just cannot make changes until it is renewed. Nothing is ever deleted.
