School PM — getting started
A planner for a semester: every assignment, when it is due, when you will actually sit down and do it, and how it all connects. What you schedule appears in your own Google Calendar, on your phone, automatically.

Setting up
- 1Create your free account. Open the site, choose Sign up free, and fill in a username, your email and a password. It costs nothing and there is no trial to run out. Your own private database is created for you — nobody else, including the administrator, can see what is in it. (If sign-ups are busy, the account may wait briefly for approval.)
- 2Connect Google Calendar. Settings → Connect Google Calendar, then approve. Leave the Calendar tick box on, or nothing can sync. A calendar called School PM appears in your Google account.
- 3Add the AI assistant (optional, paid). Open Assistant to see what it does and what it costs. Choose a plan, press Request, and pay by Bit or bank transfer — it is switched on once the payment is confirmed. Then attach a syllabus or an assignment sheet and ask it to build your plan. The meter at the top always shows your credits: used, left, and when they reset.
- 4Connect your own Claude (paid plans). Every paid plan can also use School PM from Claude itself — claude.ai, Claude Desktop, the Claude phone app or Claude Code — with no credits used. To connect, open School PM in Claude's connector directory — https://claude.ai/directory/school-pm, also the Connect in Claude button in Settings → Connect Claude — choose Connect, sign in to School PM and choose Allow. There is nothing to paste. In Claude Code, run: claude mcp add --transport http school-pm https://www.schoolpm.app/api/mcp, then type /mcp to sign in. Other MCP clients use the server URL https://www.schoolpm.app/api/mcp. Claude can then read your boards and create, change, reschedule and link tasks; it asks before changing or deleting anything. Disconnect any time in Settings → Connect Claude.

Courses
- 1List. Every task, with its course, status, due date and estimate. Click a row to open it. This is where most editing happens.
- 2Timeline. The same tasks as bars across the calendar. Drag to move, drag an edge to resize, and link tasks so that moving one pushes what depends on it. On a phone the dates are locked until you press Edit dates, so scrolling never moves your work by accident.
- 3Calendar. Your execution slots — the time you have actually set aside to work — alongside your real Google events, so you can see what is already in the way.
- 4Courses. Credits, grades, difficulty and prerequisites. The Course Map draws which course unlocks which, and marks the ones you are ready to take.
Worth knowing
- •Dates are dd/mm/yyyy and times are 24-hour. The week starts on Sunday.
- •Ctrl+Z undoes the last change.
- •A due date can be locked, so dragging in the timeline moves only the start.
- •Settings → Data → Export downloads everything as a file, whenever you like.
- •In the assistant, Auto picks the cheaper model for quick questions. Bigger files use more credits — each file shows its cost before you send it, and removing it from the chat (×) stops it costing more.
- •Forgot your password? Use Forgot password on the sign-in page — the link arrives by email.
Free, and what is paid
Everything in School PM is free, with no time limit. Only the AI assistant and the connection to your own Claude are paid. If the credits run out, only the assistant stops; if a plan ends, the assistant and the Claude connection stop. Your boards and every other feature keep working, and nothing is deleted.
